Any person engaged in or interested in the fields of Maritime Economics and Management may become an Associate member of the H.A.M.E., provided that:

(a) He/ She holds a Bachelor Degree or a Masters Degree or a Ph. D Degree on Maritime Economics and Management and b) He/ She has been proposed by an Associate member of H.A.M.E.

Any organization, educational institution, research institute or private company engaged in maritime activities may become a Corporate member of H.A.M.E., provided that:

(a) It has been proposed by two Associate members of H.A.M.E.
(b) The Board of Directors and the General Meeting of H.A.M.E have given their approval.

Any scientist who belongs to an organization, education institution, research institute or private company, which is already a Corporate member of H.A.M.E., may also become an Associate member or a Student – member of H.A.M.E.

Any person in part – or full – time education or training relevant to Maritime Economics and Management disciplines may become a Student – member, provided that:

(a) He/ She has been proposed by an Associate member and b) He/ She shall prove that he/ she is a full-time or part-time student and indicate the expected duration of the studies

There shall be three classes of Members:
Associate members
Corporate members
Student – members

MEMBERS’ RIGHTS

Each member is entitled to participate equally in all the activities of H.A.M.E. to promote its objectives.

Associate members are entitled to attend and vote at the General Meetings, to participate in the elections of the Board of Directors and the Audit Committee and to be elected. Associate members shall receive newsletters about the activities of H.A.M.E. free of charge.

Corporate members are entitled to attend and vote at the General Meetings, to participate in the elections of the Board of Directors and the Audit Committee and to be elected. A Corporate member may designate a representative to attend and vote on its behalf at General Meetings (each Corporate member having one vote). Each Corporate member shall receive two copies of newsletters and two copies of the scientific journal of H.A.M.E. free of charge.

Student – members are entitled to attend the General Meetings of the H.A.M.E., and receive newsletters and the scientific journal of H.A.M.E. free of charge.

MEMBERS’ LIABILITIES

All members shall contribute to the dissemination, communication and promotion of the objectives of H.AM.E. They shall pay the annual subscription, attend the General Meetings, and comply with the legal resolutions of the Board of Directors and the General Meetings.

MEMBERS’ RESIGNATION

Any member of H.A.M.E. may resign by notice in writing to the Board of Directors, submitted three (3) months before the end of the financial year. They are not entitled to the income or property of H.A.M.E. and to subscription refund.

MEMBERS’ WITHHOLDING

The Board of Directors may withhold from those members whose subscriptions are in arrears or their behavior is incompatible with the purposes of H.A.M.E. or do not obey to the resolutions of the General meetings.
